On the occasion of the celebration of Book Week 2022 at the Parisian neighborhood Goutte d'Or, within the framework of the activities organized by the association AGO, I led a workshop which I called "Les Carnets de Bienvenue" (Notebooks to say Welcome).
The subject of my workshop was the travel diary and it was inspired by the theme of this edition: Bienvenu, Bienvenue (Welcome).
I gave to 6 classes a paper with the drawing of 3 empty squares in line, and another one with the drawing of 3 empty triangles in line. Students were free to color it or to paint it or to draw on it, they did what they like.
There was just one rule : coloration had to be the same for all of the three squares and the same for all the three triangles, because in animation, with 3 frames and a ‘static shape’, we can create a LOOP.

I want to share some children and adultes responses did during my stop motion animation workshops, which are part of my research for my short film project Mes Maisons Volantes #mesmaisonsvolantes (#myflyinghouses).
I would like to invite you to participate in my short film project MES MAISONS VOLANTES (My flying houses).
This survey will help me to go deepen on the idea and the perception that each of us has towards “home” considered as a concrete and symbolic place, that works as an intermediary microcosm between the body and the world.
Why a flying house? Although the house offers man protection, stability and memory, what could its representations be in a story about wandering, uprooting and loneliness?
At this time of confinement, our perception changes again, domestic place stands out strongly in our daily life and becomes the only corner of the world that keep us protected.

Vorrei invitarvi a partecipare al mio progetto di cortometraggio MES MAISONS VOLANTES (Le mie case volanti).
Questa indagine sulle case volanti ha lo scopo di aiutarmi ad approfondire l’idea e la percezione che ognuno di noi ha nei confronti della “casa” intesa come luogo concreto e simbolico, che funziona come un microcosmo intermediario tra il corpo e il mondo.
Perché una casa volante? Sebbene la casa assicura all’uomo protezione, stabilità e memoria, quali possono essere le sue rappresentazioni in un racconto che parla di erranza, sradicamento e solitudine?
In questo momento di confinamento, la nostra percezione cambia ancora, il luogo casalingo s’impone con forza nella nostra vita quotidiana e diventa il solo angolo di mondo capace di proteggerci.

Du 20 au 26 mai, se tiendra la deuxième édition de « Fare cinema », la rétrospective du cinéma italien dans le monde organisée dans les Instituts culturels italiens par le ministère des Affaires étrangères (MAECI) et le ministère des Affaires culturelles (MIBAC).
L’Institut est heureux de vous présenter à cette occasion une sélection de courts-métrages d’animation d’une très grande variété de style, de poétique, mais aussi de techniques et de modalités de production – à l’image du paysage de l’animation italienne. La spécificité du style italien tient aux choix artistiques et esthétiques des dessins et de la forme, mais aussi aux récits qui se déroulent dans des lieux familiers emblématiques.
Au cours de cette soirée, nous parlerons de la genèse de ces films et de la capacité de l’animation contemporaine italienne à raconter des histoires, passées ou actuelles, à la fois personnelles et universelles. Des films d’une telle qualité qu’on peut les considérer comme de véritables œuvres d’art.
Au programme:Mercurio de Michele Bernardi [Italie, 2018, 9’48], Per tutta la vita de Roberto Catani [Italie-France, 2018, 5’20], Le nozze di Pollicino de Beatrice Pucci [Italie, 2018, 6’06], La Flèche delta de Francesco Vecchi [Italie-France, 2014, 9’], Silenziosa-Mente d'Alessia Travaglini [Italie, 2011, 5’07] et Journal animé de Donato Sansone [France, 2016, 4’19].
Paola Bristot, professeure aux Beaux-Arts de Venise, spécialiste de la BD et du cinéma d’animation, dressera un panorama de l’animation italienne et échangera avec les réalisateurs de trois des films présentés: Michele Bernardi, Alessia Travaglini et Francesco Vecchi.
En collaboration avec les associations Viva Comix, OTTOmani Laboratori et le Piccolo Festival Animazione.
In February I was invited by Roberto Paganelli from Associazione OTTOmani to do a stop-motion workshop for adults in Bologna.
Eleven fabulous people attended the course and in two intense and fun-filled days we made a nice short film called "Cut & Motion - un collage animato".

CUT & MOTION
Workshop di collage animato con Alessia Travaglini
un evento a cura di Associazione OTTOmani, Comune Bologna-Quartiere Navile, Fondazione Villa Ghigi
Percorso intensivo di 15 ore di acquisizione delle competenze di base sulla tecnica dell'animazione in cut-out di materiali provenienti da rotocalchi, quotidiani e materiali stampati vari fino alla realizzazione di un cortometraggio animato collettivo.
I partecipanti saranno invitati a rivisitare delle immagini di rotocalchi e giornali per trasformarle in collage; ritagli e strappi diventeranno delle scene animate fotogramma per fotogramma.

Il workshop “CUT & MOTION” sarà preceduto Venerdì 15 febbraio alle ore 21:00 alle Serre dei Giardini Margherita (Bologna) da un incontro con Alessia Travaglini, che proporrà al pubblico una selezione di film animati scelti tra la propria produzione sino ad arrivare alle sue collaborazioni nel cinema documentaristico.
L'incontro alle Serre dei Giardini Margherita fa parte del programma “Tecnica Mista”.

XDANISINNI is an editorial and artistic collective workshop conceived by Xrivista for the Danisinni neighborhood, in collaboration with Insieme per Danisinni and Rambla Papireto. Five young artists immerse themselves in local’s stories from the past and present, the impetus for five artistic projects.
"What is the Elixir of Danisinni? It's a collective work that aims to create an immersive theatre play set in a poetic and surreal urban landscape, which has no equal in the world: the Danisinni district of Palermo."

An elixir of love and its mysterious poison, a reportage to write and draw. The magical garden of Danisinni and his chorus meet the theatrical work produced by Teatro Massimo, and the vision of my gaze tells it through sketches and illustrations.
